One team or individual will be inducted into the Hall of Fame each Spring if there is a team/individual worthy of the honor. Inductees are honored for their considerable achievements in competition and/or contributions to the AMBOR organization.
2003 Inductee AMBOR founder Mona Porvaznik (Marshall) Mona founded the organization in 1983 and led it until 1995. 2000 Inductees Kathy (Bird) Carpenter & Buerkle Kathy & Buerkle competed in several early Gaines and Pupperoni events with a best of eleventh place, won a Best In Show for a UKC Top Gun event, and were founding members of the still-active Minnesota Mixed Breed Club. They earned CD and CDX titles from AMBOR, ASCA, and the UKC before an injury to Buerkle shortened their career. They earned two Dog World awards in earning their UKC titles, a CGC certificate, an FDX in Flyball, as well some agility, tracking, and therapy work at local children's hospitals and nursing homes. Congratulations to Kathy and Buerkle for a great career! 1999 Inductee Tim was AMBOR's public relations representative for many years. Tim and Max were the first mixed-breed team to compete in a (what was then) Gaines Regional and Classic. They finished in the Top Ten in Super Dog at the Classic. He worked with the Illini Obedience Association to allow mixes to compete at Gaines events. They were the first mixed team to compete at the World Series obedience competition in Detroit, and Tim was largely responsible for working an arrangement out with the UKC whereby mixes would be allowed to show. Today Tim is a UKC obedience judge, and spends much of his free time judging. We would like to thank him for his years of contribution as well as recognize him for his and Max's achievements in the ring. |
